Man, 53, stabbed in chest by masked men

A 53-year-old man was stabbed in the chest by men wearing face coverings on the weekend, Merseyside Police have confirmed.

Officers are investigating after receiving reports about an assault in Dingle on Saturday, October 10.

The force said it received reports a man was attacked by two men on Park Road at about 5.45pm.

It was reported a man was stabbed and had money stolen from him.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment to a wound on his chest.

His condition has since been described as serious, but non-life threatening.

A spokeswoman for the police said: "The offenders, described as two men wearing dark clothing and facial coverings, made off from the scene.

"CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 10 quoting ref. 20000614390 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111."
