Man, 52, shot dead in East Garfield Park: police

A man was fatally shot Friday in East Garfield Park on the West Side, police said.

The 52-year-old was shot multiple times in the abdomen, leg and back and was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he died, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened about 7:20 p.m. in the 3200 block of West Walnut Street, police said.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
