Man, 51, hospitalised after being hit by car in Paisley

A 51-year-old man was hospitalised after being hit by a car in Paisley.

Emergency crews raced to the town’s McKenzie Street at around 12.20pm today to reports of a road accident.

It’s understood a man was struck near the Nisa store by a red Volkswagen motor coming from Craigielea Drive.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, however it’s understood his injuries are not life threatening.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We can confirm officers attended reports a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle in McKenzie Street, Paisley at around 12.22pm.

“A 51-year-old male was conveyed by to hospital by ambulance."
