A woman is helping police with their inquiries after a man in his 50s was stabbed to death at a Hunter home on Saturday night.
Police said officers were called to a home at Ronald Street, Tenambit, about 7.20pm after receiving information that prompted concern for a man's welfare.
Police found a 51-year-old man with alleged stab would to his stomach at the home.
Paramedics tried to help the man, but he died at the scene.
The 23-year-old woman, who is known to the man, is assisting with inquires.
The woman's relationship with the man had not been publicly confirmed at the time of publication.
Police are expected to address the media in Maitland later on Sunday.
