A man armed with a machete in the city centre has been arrested and charged after an early morning incident.
Officers attended Hope Street at around 1am this morning, where a 51-year-old was found wielding the weapon near Central Station.
Officers say the man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers in Glasgow were made aware of a man in possession of a machete at 1.10am on Hope Street.
"A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged.
"A report has been sent to Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff court today."
