Man, 50s, tragically killed after two vehicle crash on N24 near Clonmel, Co Tipperary

A man has tragically died after the car he was driving struck another vehicle in Co Tipperary.

The man, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the N24 between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir.

His body was brought to South Tipperary General Hospital after the collision which happened at around 11pm on Wednesday.

It's understood the car he was driving struck another car. A post mortem is due to take place on Thursday.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road remained closed on Thursday morning to facilitate a garda forensic examination.
