A man has died after he was reportedly stabbed at a Dublin apartment complex this morning.
The alleged incident took place at the Markievicz House flats just off Townsend Street in the city centre.
The man in his 50s was rushed to St James Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.
The scene remains sealed off this evening at the block as Gardai and forensics experts carry out investigations.
A Garda statement read: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances of the death of a man in his 50s, following an incident at Markievicz House.
"Gardaí responded to reports of an incident at Markievicz House, Dublin 2 at approximately 11am this morning Monday 29th March 2021.
"A male in his 50s was brought to St James Hospital and was later pronounced dead.
"A post mortem is due to take place, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.
"The scene continues to be preserved and examinations are ongoing by the Garda Technical Bureau and Divisional Scenes of Crime personnel."
