Man, 50s, allegedly sexually assaults young woman during gathering at home in Wexford Town

An investigation is under way following the alleged sexual assault of a young woman during a house gathering in Wexford Town last weekend.

It's believed a man, in his 50s, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, in her 20s, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gardai confirmed they are investigating the report which was made during the coronavirus lockdown.

A spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged sexual assault that is believed to have occurred at a property in Wexford Town on the 13th April.

"No arrests made and investigations are ongoing."
