Man, 50, with diabetes died of organ failure at hospital

A Liverpool man died of organ failure in hospital, an inquest has found.

Stuart Boyd, of July Road in Anfield died at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital on August 15 of this year after being admitted to critical care earlier in the day.

An inquest into his death held today at the Gerard Majella Courthouse in Kirkdale heard a post-mortem report found the cause of the 50-year-old plaster's death to be 'multi-organ failure.'

This was caused by existing heart disease, 'poorly controlled diabetes' and 'chronic mixed drug use', the court was told.

He was also found to have rib fractures, thought to have been sustained in a recent fall.

Giving a verdict of accidental death, senior coroner André Rebello passed on his condolences to Mr Boyd's family.
