Man, 50, arrested after police find Taser and sawn-off shotgun during dawn raids in Salford

A man has been arrested after police found a Taser and a sawn-off shotgun during dawn raids in Salford.

Officers executed search warrants at two addresses on Worsley Road and Cook Street, in Eccles, in the early hours of Tuesday morning (June 23).

They recovered both weapons while carrying out searches.

A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

He remains in police custody.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Dawn raids saw officers from GMP’s Salford division execute warrants at two addresses – on Worsley Road and Cook Street.

"A Taser and a sawn-off shotgun were recovered and a 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

"The action is part of Operation Naseby’s ongoing disruption activity across the district."
