Man, 48, arrested after teen boy attacked outside school

A man was arrested after a teenage boy was attacked outside a school.

Merseyside Police confirmed a 48-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested after an assault in Prescot on Thursday, October 7.

A spokeswoman for the force confirmed officers were called to a report of a disturbance outside Rainhill High School at around 3.15pm.

It was reported that man assaulted a teenage boy outside the building.

In a statement shared with the ECHO, the spokeswoman said: "A 48-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested at the scene. He was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives and has been since been bailed.

Rainhill High School was approached for comment by the ECHO.

Footage taken at the scene shows a man, who is wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts, fighting with a teenage boy who is wearing a white shirt and black trousers.

The man can be seen dragging the pupil to the floor before landing a number of punches.

Later in the video, the teenager also appears to land a number of punches while vehicles driving past the incident.

Another man can be seen running over to the scene before seemingly trying to separate the pair.

Onlookers could be heard screaming in horror at the grim scenes.

The man in the grey T-shirt can then be seen walking off holding his shoe.

The boy can be seen walking towards the man again, before someone steps in between them.
