Man, 48, arrested after heroin and cocaine worth €292,000 seized in Ballyfermot

A 48-year-old man has been arrested following the seizure of €292,000 worth of drugs on Monday night in west Dublin.

During the course of a Garda led operation, heroin worth €280,000 and cocaine to the value of €12,000 was seized in Ballyfermot.

The man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Over €700,000 worth of drugs seized in west Dublin area following interception of vehicles 

Gardai, assisted by the Organised Crime Bureau, carried out the search on a residency in the area.

Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll of Special Crime Operations said: "An Garda Síochána is committed to disrupting the activities of organised criminals supplying drugs to our communities.

Revenue seizes 500 litres of wine and six litres of spirits at Dublin Port 

"This seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and cocaine is significant in disrupting this supply.”
