Man, 47, 'assaulted and robbed' by group in Tesco car park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was allegedly assaulted in a supermarket car park.

The incident took place outside Tesco Superstore in Oystermouth Road, Swansea, at 8.20pm on Sunday, March 7.

South Wales Police said that "several men" are alleged to have assaulted a 47-year-old man before taking money from his wallet.

The alleged victim was taken to Morriston Hospital with minor injuries following the assault.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident at this stage and police are asking for witnesses to contact them via 101.

A tweet from the South Wales Police account covering Swansea said: "Appeal for information about incident in which a 47 yr old man was assaulted by several men in the city centre Tesco’s car park at 8.20pm on Sun 7th March before they took cash from his wallet. Anyone who saw this incident, please get in contact via 101, quote ref 2100080791".
