A man was hospitalised after a serious assault outside an Ayr pub.
The attack took place outside Smiths on Saturday night around 10.15pm.
A 46-year-old man was taken to Ayr Hospital after the incident, which is being investigated by officers at Police Scotland.
A police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a premise on Dalblair Road around 10:15pm on Saturday November, 16 following reports of a serious assault.
"A 46-year-old man was taken to Ayr hospital for treatment.
"Enquiries are on going"
