Man, 44, left with serious facial injuries following daylight Glasgow city centre assault

A man has been left with serious facial injuries following a city centre assault this afternoon.

The incident happened on Parnie Street at around 3.45pm when the man was attacked.

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after with the 44-year-old man taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A section of the street was cordoned off following the assault.

Police Scotland has confirmed enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Parnie Street around 3.45 on Saturday 24 April following reports a man was being assaulted.

"A 44-year-old man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious facial injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
