Man, 43, has fractured skull after serious assault in Newport

A man has a fractured skull after he was seriously assaulted in Newport.

The 43-year-old was attacked by two men on the side of a road in between Baneswell Road and West Street in Newport at 7.20pm on Saturday, December 7.

Two white men who were the driver and passenger of a black saloon style car, got out of the vehicle and assaulted the man who was stood on the roadside with another man.

The 43-year-old, from Newport, remains in hospital a month after the incident happened.

Gwent Police are continuing to appeal for information and want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and anyone with dash cam footage.

A police spokesman said: "We're continuing to investigate a serious assault in Newport where a man suffered a fractured skull and remains in hospital receiving treatment.
