Man, 43, dies after car veers onto central reservation and hits tree in Glasgow

Police are appealing for information after a man died following a crash in Glasgow .

The crash happened at around 2.20pm on Saturday afternoon. The man was driving his black Honda Jazz along Edinburgh Road, near to Wellhouse Road in the city's east end, when it veered onto the central reservation and collided with a tree.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

The road was closed for a short time while enquiries were carried out.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor, of Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was driving on Edinburgh Road yesterday, who may have seen the black Honda Jazz prior to the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage to get in touch with us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 2521 of Saturday, 20 April 2019.
