A 43-year-old man has died after being found on the side of the road in Bridgend.
South Wales Police said the man was discovered unconscious on Tondu Road by a passing motorist just before 1.20am on Saturday morning.
Despite best efforts of the emergency services, the man died at the scene.
A section of the road was closed for several hours as police carried out initial investigations, however the death is not believed to be suspicious.
Enquiries into the cause of death remain ongoing.
The man's next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police were called to assist the ambulance service at approximately 1.20am.
"Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man died at the scene."
