Man, 42, killed in Ayrshire house after being gunned down

A man has been killed after he was gunned down in an Ayrshire home.

The 42-year-old was discovered at a property on Nithsdale Road in Ardrossan shortly before 4.50pm.

Police have confirmed that he later died at the scene.

Now detectives have launched a manhunt in a bid to trace the gunman.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Sunday, 24 May, a 42-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were within a house in Nithsdale Road, Ardrossan when a man entered the house and discharged what is believed to be a firearm before leaving the house.

“The 42-year-old man was then found with serious injuries and died at the scene a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and are currently searching the surrounding area for the suspect and viewing CCTV in the area.”
