Man, 40s, arrested after gardai seize €150,000 worth of cannabis in house raid in Dundalk, Co Louth

A man in his 40s has been arrested after gardai found €150,000 worth of cannabis in a house raid.

Gardai discovered a "sophisticated cannabis growing operation" at the property in Dundalk, Co Louth.

The raid was carried out by the Dundalk Drugs unit assisted by local officers, who searched the house under warrant on Friday afternoon.

A garda spokesperson said: "Approximately 130 cannabis plants were recovered along with a quantity of cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of €150,000 (analysis pending).

"A man in his forties was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

"Investigations ongoing."
