A man was rushed to hospital with a facial injury after being the victim of an unprovoked street attack in Paisley.

The assault took place on King Street last night around 10:15pm.

Police say the 40-year-old suffered a serious laceration to his face which required treatment, the Paisley Daily Express reports.

They have launched an appeal to trace three males who were seen in the area around the time of the attack.

Detective Constable Stewart Crawford, from Paisley CID, said: “A 40-year-old man was seriously assaulted by another male near to King Street in Paisley on Friday night.

“The victim suffered a laceration to his face which required hospital treatment.

“We believe his attacker was part of a group of three men, all of whom we are keen to trace.

“If you witnessed the incident, or saw three males in the area around the time it took place, then we would like to hear from you.”

He added: “If you have dashcam of private space CCTV from the area, then again, we would ask that you contact police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
