Man, 40, arrested in relation to Lucan shooting where victim made incredible escape after being blasted with 10 bullets in September

A man, 40, has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Dublin in September where a male victim made an incredible escape after being blasted with 10 bullets.

The man survived the gunfire after a brazen hit team fired the round of bullets through his windscreen in Lucan on September 4.

Gardai swarmed the area of Griffeen Glen Park in the west Dublin area as the man managed to crawl out of the driver seat and escape to a nearby house.

It is believed by Gardai that the shooters used three different vehicles following the attack all of which were found burnt out in various locations.

The arrested man is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Lucan Garda Station and investigations are ongoing.
