The body of a man has been found on a Wirral street.
Police today confirmed the tragic news that the 39-year-old man was found dead in Birkenhead at the weekend.
A search is now underway to trace the family of John Hoare who was sadly found dead in Park Road East on Saturday.
Merseyside Police said they are not treating the death of Mr Hoare, who was born in Ireland, as suspicious.
A spokeswoman confirmed he was found in the street.
She said: "John Hoare, who was born in Ireland, passed away in Park Road East, Birkenhead on Saturday, 7 September.
"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."
Liverpool and Wirral Coroner's Office has begun the task of tracing his next of kin.
Anyone who knows of the whereabouts of the next of kin of Mr Hoare is asked to contact coroner's investigation officer James Martindale on 0151 233 0129.
