Man, 39, dies after collapsing in street with 'medical episode'

A 39-year-old man who collapsed yesterday in a Wirral street has died, police have confirmed.

The man, who was from Wallasey Village, collapsed on Leasowe Road while out walking at around 12.30pm.

Emergency services were called to the street after the man reported suffered a 'medical episode'.

The air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and the man was described by police and North West Ambulance Service as being in a 'critical condition' yesterday.

However, on Tuesday morning police confirmed that the 39-year-old man had sadly passed away.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "I can confirm that the man from Wallasey Village has passed away. He was 39."

Yesterday, North West Ambulance Service said that paramedics were sent to a medical incident on Leasowe Road and that a male was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: ""At 12:17 pm on Monday we were called to a medical incident on Leasowe Road.

"The air ambulance attended the scene of the incident along with two ambulances, and an advance paramedic.

"A male was taken to hospital in a critical condition."
