Man, 37, found dead inside house on New Year's Eve

A man was found dead inside a house on New Year's Eve.

Emergency services were called to a report the body of a 37-year-old man was found inside a house on Hartington Road in West Derby just after 4.15pm.

Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed.

Police and forensics remain at the scene today (Saturday, January 1) and the property remains cordoned off.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said at this stage his death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries at the scene continue.

A post mortem will take place to establish the cause of his death.

The spokesperson for the force said: "Detectives are in attendance at a house in West Derby following the death of a man yesterday (Friday, December 31).

"Emergency services were called to a report the body of a 37-year-old man had been found inside a house on Hartington Road just after 4.15pm.

"Paramedics sadly pronounced the man deceased at the scene, and the his next of kin have been informed.

"At this stage his death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries at the scene continue.

"A post mortem will take place to establish the cause of his death."
