
A man is fighting for his life after being shot in east London on Friday night.
Emergency services rushed to Crossway in Dalston shortly before 11 pm following reports of gunfire. Officers, including armed police, attended the scene alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
The 37-year-old victim was found with gunshot injuries and taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
Photos from the scene show a heavy police presence, with officers guarding a cordon put in place overnight. Road closures were also enforced while forensic teams searched for evidence. These have since been lifted, although a crime scene remains.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called at 10.53 pm on Friday, June 20, to reports of a shooting in Crossway, Hackney. Officers, including firearms officers, and the London Ambulance Service attended.
“A 37-year-old man was found with gunshot injuries at the scene. He was taken to an east London hospital. He remains in a life-threatening condition.
“No arrests have been made at this early stage of the investigation. Road closures were in place while officers carried out initial enquiries.
“These have now been lifted, but a crime scene remains in place. Officers from specialist crime are investigating the incident, and local officers will enhance their patrols in the immediate area.
