A 36-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed 'multiple times' at a home in Wigan.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were scrambled to Chapel Green Road in Hindley at around 3.30pm this afternoon, January 18, amid reports of a stabbing.
A man was found to have been stabbed 'multiple times in the leg' and was rushed to hospital by road ambulance, according to spokespeople from North West Ambulance and Greater Manchester Police.
The force has launched an investigation into the incident, though no arrests have yet been made.
The man's injuries are serious, though not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers are remaining in the area as the investigation continues, the force has confirmed.
The Force Duty Inspector for GMP told the Manchester Evening News : "Police were called at 3.33pm to reports of a stabbing in Chapel Green Road in Hindley.
"Emergency services attended and enquiries established a 36-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times in the leg.
"The man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening."
"There is ongoing police activity in the vicinity while the matter is being investigated.
"Enquiries are in their early stages. No arrests have been made."
A spokesperson from NWAS added: "We received a call regarding an incident on Chapel Green Road at 3.29pm and mobilised a number of resources including an air ambulance, response vehicle and an ambulance.
"One patient has been taken to hospital by road with serious injuries."
