Man, 36, charged in connection with death of Perth granddad Ian Menzies

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Perth granddad Ian Menzies.

The body of 'beloved grandad' Ian, 55, was found within a property on Scott Street, Perth, around 8.50pm on Monday, June 7, after concerns were raised for his welfare.

Officers initially arrested a man in London two days ago and today confirmed he had been charged in connection with the death.

He is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.

Forensic officers were seen scouring the flat for evidence as a major police probe was launched.

A tribute released by Ian's family earlier this week said: "Ian was the best dad, grandad and brother in the world.

"He was caring, respected and loved dearly by friends and family. Words cannot express how sorely he will be missed.

"As you can understand, this is a traumatic time for us as a family. Although we appreciate your messages of support we would like to respectfully request our privacy at this highly sensitive time.”
