A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 33-year-old woman East Kilbride woman.
Officers attended an address in Park Terrace, West Mains around 4.30pm on Thursday, April 30, after concerns for the occupant were reported to police.
Louise Aitchison, aged 33, was found within her home and pronounced dead at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Following a post-mortem today her death is now being treated as murder.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with Louise’s death and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, May 4.
Detective Inspector Sandy MacKinnon of the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts are with Louise’s family at this incredibly difficult time and we are keeping them fully updated on the progress of our enquiries.
"As we continue to seek answers for them, I urge anyone who may have information which could be relevant to contact us or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”
