Man, 34, fighting for his life after one-car crash near Milngavie

A man is fighting for his life following a car crash in Milngavie.

The 34-year-old was driving on Balmore Road on Thursday when he was involved in a one-car crash near the Allander Toll roundabout around 12.50am.

Emergency services attended and the man, who was driving a silver Ford Fiesta, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

The road was closed between Allander Toll and Kelvinbridge roundabout for around six hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnesses the incident to come forward to help with their investigations.

Sergeant Adnan Alam from Glasgow Road policing unit said: "A man has sustained serious injuries as a result of this crash and we are appealing for information to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"Enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone in the area at the time with a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle to contact us."

"Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0116 of Thursday, 14 April, 2022."
