Officers say he is currently receiving hospital treatment for injuries sustained prior to his arrest.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 33-year-old woman who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody for questioning, GMP confirmed.

A scene remains in place on Darras Road with police and fire investigators working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

Tributes for Ms See, who was believed to be in her early 60s, have since been placed at the scene of the devastating fire.

One note on a bunch of flowers read: "Auntie Sandra. Gone but not forgotten.

"Loved and missed by many. Love David xx."

Another touching tribute read: "San. We will miss you.

"Love you always, mam."

Formal identification has not yet taken place.

At the scene, a forensic tent has been erected in front of what appears to be a badly-burnt bungalow.
