Man, 31, rushed to hospital after late-night hit and run in Co Limerick

A man was rushed to hospital after a hit-and-run in Co Limerick last night.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Saturday on Quarry Road in the city.

The 31-year-old man was hit by the car after it mounted the footpath.

He was brought to University Hospital Limerick with head injuries, and his current condition is not known.

The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene, and the car involved in the incident was later found burnt out.

A garda spokesman said: "No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing."
