Man, 31, in hospital with 'life-changing' injuries after stabbing in Bolton

A man is in hospital tonight with 'life-changing' injuries after a stabbing in Bolton.

The incident happened on Church Road in Farnworth at around 5.30pm.

Police attended and found a 31-year-old man with stab wounds.

Images shared with the Manchester Evening News show an air ambulance landed in the nearby ASDA car park.

The victim was taken to hospital and police say he has suffered 'life-changing' injuries.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested.

A large police cordon is in place on Church Road between some playing fields and a row of terraced houses.

An alleyway to the rear of the properties has also been taped off.

A resident who asked not to be named said: "There was an argument earlier on today. One [man] came back with a knife.

"There was a fight in the back garden then a man ran off. We phoned the police."

A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers attended and found a 31-year-old man with stab wounds, he was taken to hospital and his injuries are described as life-changing."

"A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault (wounding with intent) and remains in custody for questioning.
