A 31-year-old man died Saturday after being shot weeks earlier in Englewood on the South Side.

About 10:10 p.m. Oct. 12, the man was traveling east in a vehicle on 57th Street when someone fired shots as he passed by Elizabeth Street, striking him in the head, Chicago police said.

The man, identified as Stephen Harris, of Austin, died of his injuries Saturday morning at the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating the shooting.
