Man, 31, charged with attempted rape and aggravated burglary in Peterlee

A man has been charged with attempted rape and aggravated burglary in Peterlee.

Steven Edwards, of no fixed abode, was arrested by police in Durham on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has also been charged with two counts of burglary in Durham City and one count of fraud.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at court on Monday.
