A man was last night rushed to hospital after a serious assault in Cork city.
The man, aged in his 30s, was attacked on Marino Walk in the South Docks at around 6:30pm.
He was rushed to Cork University Hospital but is not not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
According to Cork Beo, Gardai are investigating the incident but have made no arrests so far.
A garda spokesperson told CorkBeo: "Gardaí in Anglesea street are investigating an assault that took place at Marina Walk, Cork yesterday, 17th of September at approximately 6:30pm.
"A male in his 30s was taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
This is one of a number of serious assaults in Cork over the last number of days.
On Saturday night pensioner John Wall, 66, was left with cuts to his face after a vicious attack in the Mount Oval area.
A short time before that on Saturday in Garyduff a teenager was brutally assaulted in broad daylight and had to be brought to hospital with facial injuries.
These incidents are not believed to be linked.
