A man has tragically died following a road crash in Co Meath.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash at around 4.40pm on Monday which saw the busy road closed as a result of the collision.
The crash occurred at Clowanstown, Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath between J6 - J7.
A man aged in his 30s, the driver of one car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman aged in her 40s who was driving the other car has been taken to hospital with what are said to be non-life-threatening injuries.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving two cars that occurred on the M3 at Clowanstown, Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath between J6 - J7 on 24/05/2021 at approximately 4.40pm.
"The driver of one car, a man aged in his 30s, has been pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car, a woman aged in her 40s, has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"The scene remains closed for a technical examination.
