Man, 30s, dead after horror crash between car and lorry in Co. Roscommon

A man died when his car hit a lorry on Monday morning.

Gardai rushed to the scene of the crash on the N5 at Cloonfree in Strokestown, Co Roscommon at around 9.30am.

A man in his 30s was fatally injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to the Roscommon mortuary, where a post mortem examination is due to take place.

The lorry driver, a man in his late 40s, was uninjured.

A Garda forensic team attended the scene and the road was closed as local diversions were put in place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have information in relation to this collision to contact them, including anyone who was driving in the area between 9am and 9.45am.
