Man, 30s, arrested and charged in connection with grim acid attack in house in Co Limerick

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a grizzly acid attack which took place in Co Limerick last month.

A man was hospitalised during the gruesome assault in which it's believed a corrosive substance was thrown in his face.

The incident occurred at a house in Garryowen, Co Limerick on June 13.

He presented himself to University Hospital Limerick for treatment and was later discharged.

Gardai arrested a man yesterday, aged in his 30s, in relation to the attack and he has since been charged.

A Garda spokesman said: "The man arrested in connection with an assault in Garryowen, Co Limerick on the night of June 13, 2020 has since been charged.

"He is due to appear before Limerick City District Court this morning at 10.30am."
