A murder probe has been launched after man was killed in an incident described as "horrific" by police.
The victim, 30, was found with a "number of serious injuries" in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester in the early hours of Saturday.
He died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services, police said.
Officers were called to an address on Charleston Court at around 1:30am after "reports of a concern for welfare".
Detectives are now following up a number of lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.
A cordon also remains in place, Greater Manchester Police said.
