Man, 30, arrested after stabbing in Leeds

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after a 29-year-old man was stabbed in the leg in Leeds.

Yesterday (Wednesday) at 6.50pm West Yorkshire Police received a report of a man with a stab wound to his leg attending St James’s University Hospital.

Following enquiries, the force taped off a ginnel off Penarth Cross Gates.

A man, 30, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and he remains in custody.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At 6.50pm yesterday, police received a report of a 29-year-old man with a stab wound to his leg attending St James’s Hospital A&E.

“A scene was identified in a ginnel off Penarth Road, Cross Gates.

“The victim received stitches and was released from hospital.

“As a result of enquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
