A 29-year-old man has appeared in court in private in connection with an attempted murder in East Kilbride.
Johnny McCallum is charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.
He is also charged with carrying a bladed weapon in a public place
McCallum made no plea or declaration when he appeared on petition at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
The alleged offence happened at Calderwood Square in East Kilbride on Wednesday, November 24.
Police Scotland launched an investigation last week following a late night disturbance in the shopping precinct which resulted in a 24-year-old man being stabbed.
Mr McCallum, of no fixed abode, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear again within the next eight days.
