A 28-year-old man was left with a bleed on his brain and a broken jaw after being robbed for his Rolex watch in north London, police say.

The victim was attacked at around 10.50pm on Burgh Street, Islington, by at least two suspects.

His wallet and watch were taken.

Footage recovered from a nearby camera shows the man being chased by the suspects. He falls into the road and is then robbed.

During the incident, a Toyota Prius slows and briefly stops nearby, before driving away.

The London Ambulance Service took the injured man to a central London hospital where he was found to have suffered a bleed on the brain and a broken jaw.

The Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Detective Constable Alejandra Gomez, who is investigating, said: “I am very keen to speak to anyone who can provide information concerning the identity of the suspects in this case.

“Similarly, I ask the driver of the Toyota Prius that slowed to a stop next to the scene to get in touch and tell us what you saw.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Met on 101, email, or Tweet @MetCC quoting reference Cad 798/12Jul or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
