Man, 28, fatally shot in Washington Park

A 28-year-old man was shot and killed Friday in Washington Park on the South Side.

He was on the sidewalk about 6:20 p.m. in the 200 block of East Garfield Boulevard when someone shot him, Chicago police said. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
