Man, 26, suffers near-fatal heart attack after downing 10 energy drinks a day

A man suffered a near-fatal heart attack after downing 10 energy drinks a day.

The 26-year-old was rushed to hospital after complaining of numbness in his arm and excessive sweating.

Doctors found a blocked artery leading from the Texas man's heart, according to Case Reports in Emergency Medicine.

It was revealed he had drank around four litres of energy drinks, including Monster and Rock Star - with his chest pain coming shortly afterwards.

Doctors believe his habit led to the heart attack which nearly killed him, reports the Daily Star.

The man told doctors his had been having pains in his chest and arm for around nine hours.

He also complained of feeling nauseous and vomiting before admitting his dangerous habit to doctors.

The man told doctors his left arm had gone numb and that he was sweating excessively (PA)

The report read: "The patient stated that he drank any kind of energy drink he could get access to."

After he was released, he was told not to consumer any more energy drinks.
