Man, 26, shot and killed in Lawndale

A 26-year-old man was shot dead Monday in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was standing on the sidewalk about 12:24 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Homan Avenue when he was gunned down, Chicago police said. The man was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.

Witnesses on the scene were uncooperative with investigators, police said. No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
