Man, 26, rushed to hospital after 'disturbance' in tower block

A man was taken to hospital after being assaulted during a 'disturbance' at a tower block in Salford.

Police were called to the scene at Cremer House on St Mary's Road in Eccles at around 8pm on Friday.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said officers have established that a 26-year-old man was assaulted.

No further details were given but witnesses at the scene told the M.E.N the man had been stabbed.

A large number emergency services vehicles, including an ambulance, remained outside the tower block on Friday night.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

GMP said in a statement: "Shortly after 8pm on Friday 28 August 2020, police were called to a disturbance on St Mary's Road in Eccles.

"Enquiries have established that the victim - a 26-year-old man - was assaulted."

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
