Man, 26, rushed to hospital after being stabbed 'four to five times' near Luas stop

A man was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed close to a south Dublin Luas stop.

The shocking assault happened near the Goldenbridge Luas stop on Monday evening.

A witness said the victim, 26, was “stabbed four to five times” as his girlfriend waited for him at the stop.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital and his injuries are not believed to be non-threatening.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí responded to an assault that occurred on 9th March 2020 near the Goldenbridge Luas stop in Drimnagh, Co Dublin at approximately 7.45pm.

“A 26 year-old man received several stab wounds during the incident. The man was later taken to St.James’s Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
