Man, 26, dies in Swansea park after urgent police search

A 26-year-old man died at a park in Swansea after he was reported missing on Monday evening.

He was located following a search by South Wales Police, which had received concerns for his welfare.

Officers located the missing man at Rosehill Quarry, a green space between Townhill, Mayhill and Mount Pleasant in Swansea.

The man, from Mount Pleasant, died at the scene despite the efforts of police officers.

Eyewitnesses said they saw multiple emergency vehicles in the vicinity of Rosehill Quarry Community Park at around 10pm on Monday evening.

Reports suggest three police vehicles and three ambulances were at the scene whilst the search was conducted.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "We were called to concerns for welfare of a 26-year-old man who had been reported missing from Mount Pleasant yesterday evening.

"A search for the man was undertaken and he was located at Rosehill Quarry. Despite the efforts of officers the man sadly died.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the HM Coroner."
