A man has been arrested after allegedly carrying out indecent acts on himself in a town centre.
Police were responding to reports of the 26-year-old carrying out acts in Dam Park Road, Hope Street and the River Ayr walkway, Ayr.
He had been reported by concerned locals a number of times between April 18 and 26.
Ayr Police Communities Inspector Frank Braddick said: “The man was arrested following significant enquires by local officers. He is expected to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court.
“We will continue to police those engaged in this form of criminality.”
